Effect of IL-1α on the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cell lines. (A) Cancer cell viability as a parameter of cell proliferation was assessed using the MTT assay. Three pancreatic cancer cells were treated with/without 10 ng/ml IL-1α after incubation with/without 0.5 μg/ml anti-α6 or anti-β1 integrin antibody for 24 h in serum free medium. Bars indicate the s.d. Experiments were performed in triplicate and repeated three times. **: p < 0.01, *: p < 0.05 vs. control. (B) The effect of IL-1α on cell growth was assessed by cell count.
